Black Knife
Any ideas instead of black ghost knife fish?
I was at the pet shop and saw a black ghost knife- it was amazing! The problem is, although I really want one, they sound hard to take care of. They get too big, mostly (actually, that’s pretty much it). So, are there any similar fish that don’t get as big that still look as great and will do all the neat stuff it does (eat out of someones hand, swim upside down/ backwards, etc)? Or are there any other types of fish you recommend? Please help me!
An African brown knife doesn’t get as big(10 to 12 inches), but they still need a 55 gallon. I had my first one hand feeding, both he and my senegal bichir would take earth worms from my fingers. That’s the food I used to get them both started. It literally took months to get them that trusting, but well worth it, it’s a real bonding experience.
